We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Clinical Psychologist to join our team temporarily to assist with conducting pediatric evaluations during an autism clinical study, helping us Reveal the Super in Every Child!

Your Impact

As a temporary Clinical Psychologist at MetroEHS Pediatric Therapy, you will participate in a pivotal clinical study, evaluating a novel brain stimulation medical device for reduction of autism symptoms in children aged 2 to 8. The existing two sites are Mount Sinai Seavers Center and SUNY Upstate Medical – Galisano Center. You can read more about the study here: https://clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT06006637

MetroEHS expects the Psychologist to evaluate approximately 45 children initially. These evaluations are completed in order to enroll children in the trial who have a CARS score of between 30 and 45. Each of the initial evaluations will take approximately 30 minutes, plus traveling, resulting in approximately 25-30 hours for the initial evaluations for the 30 children enrolled.

Of the 30 children that are enrolled, the Psychologist will need to conduct 3 additional evaluations, CARS, SRS, CGI (mid-point, end of study, 1 month after completion). Each of these evaluations will take approximately 30 minutes for a total of approximately 50 hours, plus travel.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Clinical Psychology culminating in the receipt of PhD.
  • 2+ years of experience working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
  • The Psychologist will need to participate in initial CARS training with a Washington University (the training is a 2-hour online lecture) and then participate in bi-weekly calibration (1 hour meeting) with Mount Sinai / SUNY Upstate Medical upon beginning the clinical trial.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Active & Engaged Work – Kneeling, bending and playing at ground level.
  • Quick Reflexes – Ability to respond to behaviors such as elopement (running away) or aggressive actions.
  • Loud or Noisy Environments – Working with active children in dynamic settings.

Work Schedule

  • Total time spent on the clinical study will be approximately 80-100 hours beginning September 2025 through December 2025
  • Hours are flexible between 9am-6pm, Monday-Friday

Compensation

  • $100- $150 per hour commensurate with experience and qualifications
