Your Impact 

As a Human Resources Generalist at MetroEHS Pediatric Therapy, you will provide:

On-site HR Representation: Serve as the dedicated HR representative for assigned clinics, providing on-site support and guidance to employees and leadership. Regular travel to various clinic locations is required, as warranted.

Background Checks and Credentialing Verifications: Responsible for new hire background checks and credentialing verifications, ensuring compliance and accuracy for new hires and active employees. This includes managing the credentialing process with systems.

Onboarding: Ensure all onboarding documents are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner. Schedule and conduct new hire orientations, ensuring alignment with company values and policies. Act as the primary point of contact for new employees prior to and during their initial period of employment. Gather and analyze feedback from new hires to identify opportunities for improving the onboarding process.

Employee Relations: Act as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance and support on HR policies, procedures, and sensitive issues. Conduct investigations as needed and facilitate effective conflict resolution. Perform exit interviews and conduct statistical analysis of feedback to identify trends and areas for improvement.

HR Policy & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations as well as Community Mental Health (CMH) requirements. Assist in the development, implementation, and communication of HR policies and procedures. Perform regular audits to ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations.

Performance Management: Support the performance management process, including goal setting, performance reviews, and corrective action plans. Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees to foster professional growth.

Compensation & Benefits: Assist with the administration of compensation and benefits programs, including payroll support, benefits enrollments, and leave management.

Culture & Engagement: Contribute to initiatives that promote a positive company culture, enhance employee engagement, and improve retention.

HRIS Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in our Paychex HRIS system. Generate reports and analyze HR data to identify trends and inform decision-making.

Training & Development: Identify training needs and assist in the development and delivery of employee training programs.

Culture & Engagement: Contribute to initiatives that promote a positive company culture, employee engagement, and retention.

Project Management – work on various projects as needed supporting the HR team and HR Director.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a Generalist role preferably within a similar industry.
  • Solid understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with HRIS systems, preferably Paychex is a plus.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.

Physical & Environmental Requirements 

  • Prolonged Sitting and Desk Work: Remaining seated for extended periods (up to 6+ hours per day) while performing computer-based tasks, filing, scheduling, and data entry. 
  • Frequent Computer Use & Fine Motor Skills: Continuous use of keyboards, mice, and other office equipment; tasks require precise finger dexterity for typing, filing, and handling small office supplies.
  • Visual Acuity Requirements: Ability to read printed materials and computer screens for data entry, document review, and patient records.
  • Telephone & Verbal Communication: Constant phone interaction; clear speech and active listening are essential for scheduling appointments, addressing inquiries, and coordinating with clinical staff.
  • Light to Moderate Lifting: Lifting and carrying office supplies, paper reams (up to 20 lbs), patient folders, small equipment, or mail bins; occasional need to move office furniture or equipment.
  • Mobility within Facility: Walking between offices, therapy rooms, and other areas; negotiating stairs or uneven flooring; ability to navigate a busy, sometimes crowded reception area.
  • Stressful or Fast-Paced Environment: Managing multiple administrative tasks and patient needs concurrently; ability to prioritize under pressure and maintain composure during peak periods.
  • Shared Workspace & Open Office Setting: Working in cubicles or open-plan areas, which may include background noise from phones, printers, or conversations.
  • Exposure to Common Office Hazards: Potential for paper cuts, minor repetitive strain injuries (e.g., carpal tunnel), and ergonomic risks—requires adherence to proper workstation setup and occasional use of ergonomic aids.

Compensation 

  • Annual salary, dependent on experience and qualifications.
